Job Title: Senior Director, Business Development - USDA

Work Location: Hybrid; Vienna, VAWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Director, Business Development to join our team, specializing in identifying and qualifying opportunities within the Federal sector, with expertise within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) domain. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of shepherding new opportunities from identification to win. This individual will have experience with the front end of the BD process (networking, attending events, etc) through to putting together a winning team, red team reviews, and finally winning new work.
Key Responsibilities: - Qualification to Capture and Pipeline Development:
- Successfully develop net new business within the USDA. Preferred experience developing full and open work.
- Qualify leads and opportunities based on established criteria and strategic objectives, opportunities with a focus on Cyber, AI, or Digital Modernization.
- Promote deals from Qualify to Capture within reasonable timeframes.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities within the USDA.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within USDA.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, challenges, and strategic priorities.
- Proposal Development Support:
- Collaborate with proposal teams to develop compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals.
- Provide input on technical and business strategies to enhance proposal success.
- Market Intelligence and Strategy Development:
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activities impacting the USDA.
- Contribute to the development of business development strategies and plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Networking and Industry Engagement:
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Build and maintain a professional network of contacts to support business development efforts.
- Market Research and Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of the Federal market landscape, focusing on USDA.
- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including contracts, partnerships, and collaborations
Required Qualifications:Required Experience/Skills:- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development within the Federal sector, with a focus on USDA.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, qualifying, and capturing net new business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of Federal procurement processes, including familiarity with USDA procurement procedures preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical field.

Salary and Benefit Information:The likely salary range for this position is $150,000 - $xxx. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
