Reporting to the IT Operations Manager (Systems), the Senior Database and Middleware Analyst is responsible for the provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of relational database management systems and related infrastructure components. This role supports the ongoing evolution of Agropur’s database ecosystem through standards, automation, operational procedures, and the delivery of technical solutions across on-premises, virtual, and cloud environments.

The position also provides technical leadership to small operational and project teams, oversees work performed by managed service providers, and contributes to major infrastructure, ERP, and database initiatives requiring coordination with internal teams, vendors, project managers, and business stakeholders.

  • Salary scale 006: $: 100 900 to $126 100 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)

What you’ll be responsible for each day:


  • Serve as the go-to expert for database services, leading the resolution of critical incidents and ensuring long-term solutions.
  • Manage, optimize, and enhance Oracle, SQL Server, and Oracle E-Business Suite environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
  • Ensure database availability, performance, security, and reliability, including backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Lead database and infrastructure projects from planning through successful production deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership by mentoring team members, collaborating with partners and vendors, and promoting best practices.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, system stability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures to support effective operations.
  • Champion change management, continuous improvement, and platform modernization to strengthen service resilience and scalability.

 

The individual who will own this role:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in database administration, IT infrastructure, or ERP environments.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database, Oracle E-Business Suite, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience managing mission-critical environments, including backup and recovery, disaster recovery, high availability, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and AIX operating systems, as well as automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, PL/SQL, or T-SQL.
  • Experience with enterprise ERP platforms, particularly Oracle E-Business Suite and SAP.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate with external vendors, and support knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Experience with cloud environments, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
