The Senior Data Engineer will report to the Director of Data Engineering. This role will play a critical role in designing and building scalable data solutions, working closely with various operations teams, data analysts, and business stakeholders. The Senior Data Engineer will help Geode build a modern, cloud native data and analytics platform centered around technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, DBT, Snaplogic, and Python.
This role is based in our office in Boston, Massachusetts. You are required to follow the firm's policy on in-office attendance. Our current policy requires in-office attendance on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and then provides an option to work remotely on Monday and Friday. Please note that Geode may alter this policy at any time.
Responsibilities: - Build best in class Data platform to ingest, process and store enterprise data for our business teams to gain insights into our data
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software and data solutions
- Continuously enhance data pipelines through automation, expanded yet increasingly efficient unit testing and increasing test coverage, ultimately optimizing time-to-market and quality
- Collaborate with development team in building innovative, event driven, cloud native solutions using AWS, Snowflake, DBT, Snaplogic, and Python
- Collaborate with the product area owner, data product leads, Scrum Masters, and ] development teams to build effective data ingestion and integration pipelines
- Mentor new or junior team members and participate in code reviews
- Iteratively deliver high-quality products to enable our investment business, operations, analytics, and client reporting
Skills you bring: - A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a similar field
- 10 + years of data and software engineering experience including technical leadership
- Strong Python programming skills with a focus on data engineering and data pipeline development
- Expertise in ELT development using DBT, Snowflake, Snaplogic or similar tools
- Strong skills in data modeling, building operational data stores and data warehouses
- Excellent SQL skills, developing SQL stored procedures and functions
- Strong hands-on experience in designing, building and maintaining AWS native applications
- Hands-on experience with scheduling tools such as Airflow or Control-M
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in an Agile environment utilizing agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) is a plus
- Experience in data analytics building reports, dashboards, and visualizations with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
- Experience working in the Asset management industry is a plus
Pay Range: $165,000 - $185,000 per year
