Full Job Description
Job Overview:
Xpect Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Architect to support our federal client's Finance and Facilities Division (FFD), Accounting & Technology Section (ATS) Business Intelligence (BI) Suite Operations & Maintenance program. The BI Suite supports financial reporting and data warehousing on an AWS cloud platform. The Senior Data Architect leads the program's enterprise data architecture: designing conceptual and logical data models, maintaining data warehouse design documentation, building a data catalog for BI-supported systems, and supporting the ATS Data Strategy's virtualized data fabric. This is a full-time, onsite position at our client's facilities in the National Capital Region and requires an active Top Secret clearance.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the development of enterprise data architectures, strategies, and solution recommendations in support of ATS business strategies.
Lead the design of high-level conceptual and logical data models that provide a cross-system, cross-functional view of data requirements; translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions.
Design and develop solutions for complex data sets; design and build relational and non-relational databases, including star schemas and data marts.
Create and maintain data model documentation, including the Canonical Information Model (CIM), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and ETL diagrams; prepare Data Warehouse Design Documents for Government review.
Compile and maintain a Data Catalog for BI-supported systems (databases, tables, fields, and data descriptions) to feed the ATS Data Strategy; support implementation of a virtualized data fabric for centralized search and query.
Establish processes governing the identification, collection, and use of metadata; ensure metadata accuracy, validity, and quality; execute assigned data governance tasks.
Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure data for better management and quicker access.
Analyze existing data warehouse capabilities and recommend and implement process and system improvement strategies; collaborate with ATS system teams on new data source ingestion and data feed integrity.
Provide technical leadership to system and local work groups, and advise stakeholders on software, hardware, and database management solutions.
Requirements:

Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in data architecture or related technology disciplines

Experience designing and building relational and non-relational databases and data warehouse structures (e.g., star schemas, data marts)
Experience producing data architecture documentation such as ERDs, data models, and ETL design artifacts
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present solution recommendations to technical and business stakeholders
Ability to work full-time onsite at client's facility in the National Capital Region, Monday-Friday.
