The Bank of Elk River is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to support commercial lending through in-depth financial analysis, sound credit recommendations, and portfolio risk management. SUMMARY

The Senior Credit Analyst supports commercial lending by analyzing credit risk, evaluating borrower financial strength, and providing recommendations for new and existing credit relationships. This role serves as a resource to lenders and junior analysts, helping facilitate sound lending decisions while maintaining portfolio quality and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and creditworthiness of prospective and existing borrowers.
  • Gather and evaluate credit information from financial reports, credit bureaus, industry sources, and other relevant resources.
  • Prepare credit presentations, loan recommendations, and portfolio quality reports for lenders, management, and loan committees.
  • Conduct industry, economic, and risk analyses to support lending decisions.
  • Monitor loan relationships and portfolios for emerging risks and changes in borrower performance.
  • Recommend loan structure, pricing, repayment terms, and collateral support.
  • Assist lenders with loan origination, annual reviews, and high-priority credit requests.
  • Ensure credit files meet bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and interpret credit reports, D&B reports, UCC filings, and Secretary of State searches.
  • Support and mentor Credit Analysts and coordinate workflow within the credit department.
  • Maintain knowledge of SBA and other specialized loan programs.
  • Adhere to bank security procedures, compliance requirements, and the Code of Ethics.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of commercial credit analysis, lending, or related banking experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong financial analysis, credit underwriting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with lenders, management, and credit committees.
  • Abrigo Sageworks experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

COMPENSATION

Starting Salary Range: $75,000-$100,000 per year
