Full Job Description
Working independently, the Senior Counsel - Employment and Litigation will provide legal guidance on a wide range of litigation and employment related issues for the Company. Principal outcomes include ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, and advising the Company on legal rights and duties.

This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing litigation, including employment, real estate and commercial litigation.
  • Counsel on employment and compensation related matters, including hiring, discipline, accommodations and leaves, and serve as a liaison to the human resources department.
  • Support the development of organizational policies, procedures and business strategies.
  • Effectively leverage outside law firm attorneys and manage relationships with external legal affiliates.
  • Provide advice regarding compliance with various laws and regulations, including wage and hour and employment practices laws.
  • Supporting the Company in its compliance program, including maintain the Company's Code of Ethics and Whistleblower Hotline.
  • Assist with the negotiation and evaluation of a wide variety of commercial contracts
  • Managing additional legal projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Jurisprudence from an accredited program required
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience. A mix of law firm and in-house legal experience is preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge of employment laws.
  • Proficient presentation skills to effectively present information to an audience of varying responsibility within the company.
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities.
