Partnering with nursing, ancillary teams, and IT, this role leads complex workflow redesign, scales high-reliability processes, and oversees major EMR optimization efforts that strengthen quality, safety, and consistency across the health system. This role provides advanced consultation, mentors other informaticists, guides system build and testing, and uses data and user feedback to drive continuous improvement. Embedded within clinical operations, this role ensures that technology, workflows, and frontline practice evolve together—delivering smarter, safer, and more efficient care at scale.

Job Duties
  • Leads workflow design discussions and facilitates the building, testing and implementation of new system applications/modules.
  • Functions as a coach and mentor Clinical Informaticists to achieve workflow standardization and design across the organization.
  • Involves regularly evaluating the current state of the applications and workflows. Identifies aspects that could be improved and recommend/lead changes.
  • Builds solid relationships to solve healthcare clinical and business problems and provides analytical solutions to complex issues.
  • Leverages analytics and EHR usage data (NEAT, Signal, Epic Pulse) to identify improvement opportunities, drive targeted education, and inform data-driven technology and workflow enhancements.
  • Leads large-scale optimization of clinical workflows and documentation to reduce burden, standardize best practices, and enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Oversees integration and interoperability of nursing technologies — including mobile devices, physiological monitors, and telemetry — ensuring seamless data flow and reliable system performance.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree MSN, MBA, MHA or other related field
  • 5 years of progressive clinical/healthcare experience with demonstrated experience leading teams, committees, implementations or other special projects.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and lead teams to successful completion.
  • Ability to focus on details and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and to consistently apply standards with flexibility for various department functions.
  • Knowledge and ability to extract key data elements from data systems required as well as software programs including MS Office and Visio.
  • EPIC Certification - Epic Systems Upon Hire

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
