Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager - Transportation

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager with 10+ years of experience in the design and management of transportation infrastructure projects. This position will be based in Dallas, Texas and will primarily support transportation projects and pursuits throughout Texas.

As a Senior Transportation Project Manager, you will build and maintain client relationships, lead pursuits, and deliver transportation design projects as a seller-doer. The ideal candidate will have experience managing TxDOT transportation projects, leading PS&E development, pursuing and winning transportation contracts, and serving as a trusted advisor to transportation clients throughout Texas.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Duties:
  • Serve as Project Manager and oversee the successful delivery of transportation projects.
  • Develop, oversee, and monitor project activities including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate subconsultants.
  • Mentor, supervise, and develop project engineers and technical staff. Participate in engineering organizations (e.g., ASCE, ACEC, and TSPE)
  • Conduct business development efforts for transportation clients including but not limited to TxDOT, NTTA and other transportation agencies.
  • Lead or support transportation pursuits, interviews, and proposal development efforts and engage with clients through industry events.

Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer registered in state of Texas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management scheduling and financial tools.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
  • 10 plus years Transportation design experience.
  • TxDOT Project Management experience.
  • Proficient in OpenRoads and ProjectWise.
  • Experience with TxDOT Pursuits.
  • TxDOT-related pre-certifications aligned with transportation design services.

Preferred
  • Established TxDOT relationships and a demonstrated track record of winning transportation work.
  • Experience serving as Project Manager for large, complex transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with TxDOT procurement practices, contracting approaches, consultant selection processes, and project delivery requirements.
  • Experience delivering projects through Design-Build, CMAR, CMGC, or other alternative delivery methods.
  • Active participation in professional organizations and continuing education programs.

Project Manager (PM) Role Annual Performance Goals & Expectations:
  • Having a deep understanding of how your work and contributions as a co-owner add to Huitt-Zollars' mission and core values.
  • Maintaining expected Effective Labor Multiplier (ELM) on sum of all associated projects.
  • Consistently upholds business processes including timely monthly A/R's, invoicing, timekeeping, resource forecasting, percent completes, etc.
  • Achieves personal sales goal.
  • Achieves stated target personal utilization goal for PM.
  • Understands, follows and ensures quality control measures and risk management measures are being applied and adhered to projects and daily operations.

This position will office out of our Dallas, TX location in a 'Class A' office space including a state-of-the-art gym (no cost), covered parking, food court, and more.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
