SENIOR CAPITAL PROJECT MANAGER (PM2)

TOWN OF WELLESLEY

Due to a retirement, the Town of Wellesley is seeking an experienced Senior Capital Project Manager (PM2) to join its Facilities Management Department (FMD) in partnership with the Permanent Building Committee (PBC). This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the Town's highly visible 10-year, $270 million capital building program, including new and renovated fire stations, Department of Public Works facilities, and major school construction projects.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is a licensed architect or professional engineer with substantial experience managing all phases of building projects, preferably in the public sector. Reporting to the Design & Construction Manager, the Senior Capital Project Manager (PM2) will lead multiple high-profile capital building projects through every phase of development, including master planning, feasibility studies, programming, design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project close-out/warranty. The PM2 may also serve as the Town's OPM on select projects. The position is responsible for delivering high-quality, sustainable, and maintainable facilities on schedule and within budget while ensuring that projects meet programmatic requirements and community needs.

The successful candidate will join an established, collaborative team of experienced architects, engineers, project managers, and financial professionals. The position offers substantial professional autonomy, meaningful decision-making authority, and direct interaction with Town leadership, department heads, design consultants, and contractors. Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer in Massachusetts
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing building projects (public sector experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCCPO) certification for Design and Construction Contracting preferred


Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hiring salary range: $112,000 - $132,000, depending upon qualifications
  • May be eligible for annual cost-of-living and merit salary increases offered by the Town
