Senior Buyer
Description
Taiga Motors is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Buyer to lead the procurement of a portfolio of components in Taiga's supply chain for our electric off-road vehicles. You will play a key role in optimizing the supply chain with a priority on cost, quality, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a Best Cost Strategy for sourcing powersports components, ensuring optimal cost-efficiency and quality.
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, including delivery schedules, pricing, and payment terms to achieve organizational goals.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of supply chain providers within the sector to enhance sourcing strategies.
- Manage sourcing of custom-designed components based on build-to-print specifications, ensuring alignment with product requirements
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of sourced components into projects.
Main Deliverables (Next 3-6 months)
- Based on priority, secure sourcing agreements with vendors.
- Strengthen relationships with existing vendors to improve collaboration and foster long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to optimize designs for cost-efficiency and quality, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Comfortable negotiating and holding suppliers accountable
- Technical aptitude- ability to read engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication in English as you will work with vendors internationally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work onsite from our facility in Lasalle.
