The Position:This position is awaiting contract award.Position OverviewWe are seeking a
Senior Budget Analyst to lead financial management and execution strategies for the F/A-18 variants program at
NAS Patuxent River. In this senior capacity, you will serve as a principal financial advisor, overseeing high-visibility budget formulations and translating complex accounting data into strategic recommendations. You will ensure total compliance across all defense funding streams while optimizing resource allocation to sustain critical naval aviation capabilities.
Responsibilities:- Lead the examination and validation of comprehensive program budget estimates to ensure absolute accuracy, completeness, and strict conformance with NAVAIR procedures and federal regulations.
- Critique and interpret dense budgeting and accounting reports to identify systemic financial trends, evaluate variance issues, and ensure ideal execution metrics.
- Formulate long-range funding projections and budget justifications to align financial planning with complex aircraft acquisition and sustainment schedules.
- Synthesize high-level financial data to author, review, and deliver executive-grade financial status updates and briefs for program leadership.
Qualifications:- Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
- Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MS) degree from an accredited institution.
- Over 10 years of progressive financial management, budget formulation, or accounting analysis experience-ideally supporting naval aviation (NAVAIR) or Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs).
- Deep expertise in the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) cycle and the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR).
- Elite analytical and data-modeling capabilities, advanced proficiency with enterprise financial architectures, and the executive communication presence required to interface directly with senior military and civilian stakeholders.
