We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Broker Analyst to support and optimize our customs brokerage, trade compliance, and cross-border logistics operations, with a primary focus on U.S. and Mexico trade activities. This role is responsible for managing customs brokers, ensuring compliance with USMCA and Mexican customs regulations, identifying duty savings and recovery opportunities, and driving continuous improvement across import/export processes. The ideal candidate combines strong trade compliance expertise with analytical skills and a proactive approach to managing cross-border operations.
The position plays a critical role in managing increased administrative and audit demands driven by evolving trade regulations, expanded tariff programs, and heightened customs reporting requirements. The role is execution-oriented and essential to sustaining compliant import operations at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient cross-border movement between the United States and Mexico.
Administer and support USMCA compliance programs, including supplier certification validation, origin qualification reviews, and maintenance of audit-ready records.
Review and monitor customs entries for accuracy, including HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, and documentation requirements.
Identify and implement duty savings and duty recovery opportunities through USMCA claims, post-entry corrections, duty drawback programs, customs reconciliations, and broker audits.
Support and monitor compliance with Mexican customs requirements, including IMMEX program considerations and cross-border transportation regulations.
Analyze broker performance and develop KPIs related to customs clearance, entry accuracy, compliance, transit times, and duty recovery results.
Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance teams to evaluate sourcing changes, supplier compliance, and trade impacts.
Support customs audits, regulatory inquiries, and corrective action initiatives.
Develop reporting and analytics related to import/export activity, customs spend, broker performance, duty savings, and compliance metrics.
Stay current with changes to USMCA, CBP, Mexican Customs (ANAM/SAT), trade regulations, tariffs, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Trade Compliance, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, cross-border logistics, or import/export operations.
Strong knowledge of U.S./Mexico trade compliance, including USMCA Rules of Origin, tariff classification, country of origin determination, customs valuation, and import/export documentation requirements.
Working knowledge of Mexican customs processes and programs, including IMMEX.
Experience working directly with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and cross-border transportation providers.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, trade management, or reporting systems.
Strong analytical, auditing, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI, or Tableau preferred).
Strong understanding of domestic and international transportation modes and regulations.
Preferred:
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or equivalent trade compliance certification.
