The Opportunity

We are looking for a Broadcast and IT Systems Specialist to support the studio, content creation, and presentation groups with technical issues as well as help implement groundbreaking technologies across our sites. From the virtualization of services to the implementation of video-over-IP and beyond, to the introduction of centralized and automated workflows, your input will impact CBC/Radio Canada across the country.

Every day your hands-on knowledge, your growing expertise, your problem-solving skills and your ability to translate technical issues will be called into play as you work closely with clients facing issues with content creation, backend systems, studios and control rooms. Your patience, sense of urgency and responsiveness will ensure that our content is prepped, scheduled and on the air or digitally available.

Who you are and where are you now?

You may be a Computer Science or Electronics grad with interest in working at the cutting edge of media and broadcast technology from cloud services to video-over-IP. Or, you may be an industry or technical analyst elsewhere seeking an opportunity to join a nationally respected brand and organization where you can grow your career.

What’s in it for you?

Challenges. We spend our days solving problems on an unbelievable scale. Media files are highly nuanced and incredibly complicated; updating, installing and supporting technologies that are organization-wide and that impact broadcasting content is a time-sensitive, complex technical feat. And that’s just the beginning. This is an opportunity to learn and work with the most cutting-edge broadcast infrastructure in the world. There is nothing else out there like this, at this scale...yet. You will be an expert in the industry and you will continue to grow and expand your skills as you install, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, update and modify equipment, software, systems and facilities ensuring their proper operating condition and optimal performance.

Be part of the change. Right now we are looking for people who can execute our strategy. Innovators who want to push future-forward thinking. Builders who want to be hands-on, building the next generation of media technology for the CBC/Radio-Canada audience. We want to hear the ideas, see the designs and implement the innovations brought to us by our teams. You want to be part of a team actively transforming the workspace for every individual at CBC/Radio-Canada. Our priority is to proactively and in-the-moment solve problems and ensure the users can engage with new functionalities, new tools and conduct their day-to-day work seamlessly.

Cutting-edge tech. Data management. Virtualization. IP for broadcast. AI. Security and reliability. The road ahead changes every day. By joining us now, you will become both pioneer and expert with a highly specialized, in-demand skill-set as you help us take steps towards the next frontier of media. As the official providers of technology to CBC/Radio-Canada, you will be joining the team that touches the latest technologies. You will work closely with vendor and internal partners across the organization. You will contribute ideas, develop methods and make recommendations to overcome problems, achieve desired results and permit better utilization of equipment.
