Position Description: CGI is seeking a Senior AWS Python Developer with 5+ years of experience in Python development and AWS based application or data processing solutions to build and support Python services, REST APIs, and data processing solutions in a financial services environment. This role owns delivery across an assigned feature or service, with responsibility for reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, or Birmingham, AL
Your future duties and responsibilities: The developer will implement reusable components, improve SQL and application performance, and support infrastructure automation, CI/CD, monitoring, and production releases. Responsibilities also include resolving complex issues across services, reviewing code, mentoring developers, and working with product and engineering teams to manage delivery priorities and risks.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 5+ years of experience developing Python applications, REST APIs, microservices, or data processing solutions, with strong testing, logging, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
. Strong hands on AWS experience across compute, storage, databases, messaging, and orchestration, including services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridge, SNS, and SQS.
. Proficiency in SQL optimization and building reusable data processing components; familiarity with Pandas, PySpark, Boto3, EMR, Athena, or MWAA is preferred.
. Experience delivering secure, scalable services through infrastructure as code, automated deployments, monitoring, and release practices; familiarity with CloudFormation, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker is preferred.
. Ability to investigate complex production issues, lead root cause analysis, and implement lasting improvements to reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
. Experience owning feature delivery, reviewing code, mentoring developers, documenting technical decisions, and coordinating with product and engineering stakeholders.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $95,700.00 $123,200.00.
