Full Job Description
The Senior Associate position is a consulting staff position. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability, advanced degree or significant work experience, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of a Senior Associate can be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject matter research to data collection to the preparation of statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis.

Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with off-the-shelf and proprietary data collection, analysis, eDiscovery and reporting tools.
  • Providing assistance in organizing and managing documentation, evidence items, and other software/hardware inventory.
  • Ongoing analysis of industry technology trends to incorporate proven forensic investigation and supporting technologies into practice.
  • Perform detailed analysis and subsequent reporting of findings.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools and analytical methods to develop solutions.
  • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality.
  • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Assistance in the development of white-papers, published reports, and articles relevant to practice offerings.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participate in group practice meetings and travel (approximately 30%) when appropriate and if needed.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the areas of computer science, computer forensics, Management Information Systems or relevant coursework.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in computer forensics, information systems, or other relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of forensic acquisition and analysis tools such as EnCase, FTK, Axiom, XWays, Cellebrite, and other forensic tools.
  • A strong understanding of Windows/Mac based systems including installing, troubleshooting, and networking. Linux/Unix experience a plus.
  • Demonstrable subject matter experience with Email/File servers and archiving environments, such as interpretation of server logs, MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, eVault, G Suite, Office365, etc.
  • Industry certifications considered valuable to this position include: EnCE / CCE / ACE / GCFE / etc.
  • Ability to distill complicated concepts into key points of understanding.
  • Capability with MS Excel and relational database programs (e.g. MS SQL Server and MS Access), as well as experience with SQL and other scripting/querying capabilities.
  • Experience with Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer.
  • Experience with search warrant returns from Apple, Dropbox, etc.
  • Prior experience with data processing (Reveal, NUIX, etc.) and/or hosted review platforms (Relativity, etc.)
