SUMMARY The Analyst - Client Intelligence will have responsibility for categorizing work that comes into the firm using structured research techniques, and creating meaningful analytics from the data at scale. They will play a key role in shaping our understanding of the firm's business and client development, and fuel analysis for decision making at the highest level.
This position will report to the Associate Director of Business Operations & Analytics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Analyst - Client Intelligence will:
- Develop a deep understanding of the firm's practices, clients, and market.
- Master the client and matter taxonomy used within the walls of Sullivan & Cromwell.
- Perform critical review of data, marrying external intelligence with internal data points.
- Build expertise of the InTapp system, and use this knowledge to enhance the matter intake process.
- Leverage the firm's data and IT resources to produce and improve reporting solutions.
- Serve as a communication bridge for our audience, helping them interpret the data and anticipating future needs on their behalf.
- Participate in fostering an environment that is team-oriented and committed to the highest levels of client service and professional excellence.
In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.
QUALIFICATIONS - Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix organization with requests coming from many level.
- Facility for learning new technology quickly and applying the information in their daily work.
- Appreciation for the importance of granular decisions made on a micro level, and understanding of the broader impact those decisions will have throughout the firm.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Results-orientation and pragmatic problem-solving abilities, including "outside the box" thinking when necessary while ensuring speed and accuracy.
- Commitment to superior levels of client service, team-orientation, and professional excellence.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, an enterprise CRM, and working with various technology resources is preferred.
- Positive attitude, intrinsic curiosity, and grounded nature are also preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- An undergraduate degree is required; JD or other advanced degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in a professional services environment.

COMPENSATIONThe base salary range offered for this role will be between $95,000 and $135,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
