Reporting to the Executive Director of FI Trading, you will play a pivotal role in executing and managing complex trading strategies, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with various colleagues to optimize trading performance at Hightower. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of capital markets, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record in executing successful trades across multiple asset classes.
What You'll Do Trade Execution and Management - Execute and manage trades across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange, while adhering to pre-established risk management and compliance guidelines
- Utilize trading platforms, order management systems, and other relevant technologies to execute trades efficiently and effectively
Risk Management and Compliance - Monitor and manage trading positions to ensure compliance with risk limits and regulatory requirements.
- Implement risk mitigation techniques, such as hedging and stop-loss orders
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive trade records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks
Market Analysis and Strategy Development - Conduct in-depth analysis of market conditions, trends, and economic indicators to identify trading opportunities and mitigate potential risks
- Collaborate with senior traders and portfolio managers to develop and refine trading strategies, incorporating quantitative models, technical analysis, and fundamental research
Performance Monitoring and Improvement - Monitor and evaluate trading performance and profitability, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate measures to enhance overall results
Relationship Management - Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to optimize trading execution and access to liquidity
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including research analysts, risk managers, compliance officers, and operations professionals, to facilitate seamless trade execution and resolve any issues that may arise
What You'll Bring - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in capital markets trading, with a strong track record of executing successful trades across multiple asset classes
- Extensive knowledge of financial instruments, trading strategies, market structure, and regulatory frameworks governing capital markets
- Proficiency in using trading platforms, order management systems, and related technologies.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to implement risk mitigation strategies
- Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market trends, actively participating in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills
