The role provides technical leadership for the planning, route selection, design, delivery, and lifecycle performance of all-weather roads, and marine civil works.
The successful candidate will bring deep cold-regions expertise and develop practical, resilient solutions for permafrost degradation, freeze-thaw conditions, drainage, terrain constraints, and remote construction logistics.
Responsibilities:- Serve as the technical authority for Arctic civil, roadway, marine heavy civil, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Lead project scopes from feasibility and route selection through detailed design, construction support, and asset performance review.
- Develop and review roadway alignments, breakwaters, embankments, earthworks, grading, drainage systems, culverts, and crossings.
- Provide specialized solutions for permafrost, frost heave, thaw settlement, severe freeze-thaw cycling, spring freshet, icing, and climate resilience.
- Prepare and review design criteria, calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, and construction documentation.
- Lead technical, constructability, operability, maintainability, and risk reviews; identify issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
