You will play a key role in advancing architectural design excellence within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with agency standards, local and federal codes, and best practices for complex public infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do

  • Lead architectural design and documentation for transit facilities including stations, support buildings, and yard/maintenance facilities.

  • Coordinate across disciplines (structural, MEP, civil) and collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.  Manage subconsultants and internal design teams, ensuring timely, coordinated, and technically sound deliverables.

  • Interpret and implement client standards, local codes, and agency requirements (CTA, Metra, Amtrak, and municipal authorities).

  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement processes.

  • Oversee design production from conceptual design through construction documents and construction administration.

  • Provide QA/QC oversight for architectural deliverables.

What You’ll Bring

  • Registered Architect (RA) in Illinois (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.

  • Demonstrated architectural experience, with a strong focus on transit, transportation, or public infrastructure projects is ideal.

  • Proven experience working with major transit or transportation agencies (e.g., CTA, Metra, Amtrak, DOTs) on stations, yards, or maintenance facilities is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of applicable Chicago and Illinois building codes, ADA requirements, NFPA standards, and transit agency design guidelines.

  • Demonstrated experience in technical design, documentation, and construction-phase services.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with 3D visualization tools is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with federally funded projects and familiarity with FTA requirements.

  • Previous involvement in Design-Build or alternative delivery projects.

  • LEED accreditation or a strong interest in sustainable and resilient infrastructure design.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to shape the future of transit infrastructure in Chicago and across the Midwest. You’ll work alongside leading engineers, architects, and planners on projects that directly impact how communities move and connect every day.
