Position Scope:

RBC Bearings is seeking a highly motivated Aerospace Account Manager to support our Commercial & Military Engine segment. This role is responsible for developing and executing account strategies that increase RBC content across commercial and military engine platforms while supporting OEM production, fleet sustainment, modernization efforts, and aftermarket growth initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as the primary commercial leader for assigned engine customers, driving long-term business growth through design wins, strategic account development, and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Engine Program Growth
  • Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities within commercial and military engine OEMs and sub-contractors.
  • Develop account growth strategies supporting current production engines, next-generation propulsion programs, and sustainment activities.
  • Drive specification and adoption of RBC bearings, precision components, and engineered products within engine applications.
  • Pursue competitive takeaways, sole-source opportunities, and application conversions.
  • Support new engine development programs from program introduction through production and aftermarket phases.
  • Build long-term relationships with engineering, procurement, commodity management, supplier quality, and program leadership teams.

Customer Engagement & Technical Sales
  • Serve as the primary commercial liaison for engine-related customers and programs.
  • Collaborate with design, systems, and manufacturing engineers to identify solutions for propulsion system applications.
  • Understand customer requirements related to performance, reliability, durability, weight reduction, thermal environments, and lifecycle cost.
  • Conduct commercial presentations, product reviews, customer visits, and manufacturing facility tours.
  • Support design reviews, qualification activities, and customer validation efforts.

OEM, Defense & Aftermarket Sales Execution
  • Manage the complete sales lifecycle from opportunity identification and proposal development through contract award and production support.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies supporting both OEM production and aftermarket revenue streams.
  • Coordinate quoting activities, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and customer communications.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Meet or exceed revenue, margin, and growth objectives.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Account Management
  • Monitor commercial aviation and military propulsion market trends, emerging engine technologies, fleet modernization programs, and defense initiatives.
  • Track competitor activity, sourcing changes, and new engine development programs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide customer and market intelligence to engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives focused on long-term market penetration and account expansion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure successful customer support.
  • Coordinate issue resolution and support customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Advocate for customer needs while aligning with RBC operational and growth objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of B2B sales experience selling to Engine OEM's.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate technical concepts related to Engine components.
  • Willingness to travel 40-50%.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or Advanced Degree
