POSITION OVERVIEW
BDC is the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs. We support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses across Canada through financing, capital and advisory services.
The Senior Advisor, Operationalization and Implementation works at the intersection of strategy and execution, helping translate BDC's Impulse strategy and other priority strategies into coordinated initiatives, implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
Working with senior leaders, initiative owners, Lines of Business and enabling functions, you will structure complex initiatives, align stakeholders, support decision-making and provide hands-on leadership from operationalization through implementation. Your work contributes directly to turning strategic priorities into sustainable changes and outcomes for BDC and Canadian businesses.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Translate strategic priorities into clearly defined initiatives with measurable outcomes, scope, solution hypotheses, success measures and accountable ownership.
Lead operationalization activities by defining future-state capabilities, ways of working, operating and delivery requirements, sequencing, dependencies, governance, resource requirements and implementation roadmaps.
Mobilize and support cross-functional teams through implementation, coordinating workstreams, decisions, risks, dependencies and stakeholder commitments.
Develop and manage delivery plans, backlogs and sprint plans to move priority initiatives forward through manageable releases while maintaining alignment with the broader roadmap.
Establish fit-for-purpose governance and decision-making forums.
Prepare recommendations, decision materials and executive-ready presentations that give leaders clear visibility into progress, trade-offs, risks and required decisions.
Partner with Lines of Business and enabling functions to test solutions, gather feedback, adapt approaches and prepare changes for adoption and scale across BDC.
Track outcomes, benefits and implementation performance, using evidence and lessons learned to recommend whether work should continue, be adjusted, sequenced, scaled or stopped.
Identify and escalate material risks and dependencies while maintaining a focus on ethical and responsible delivery.
Build alignment across multiple stakeholders, resolve obstacles and maintain implementation momentum in complex and changing environments.
Translate complex information into clear insights, choices and calls to action for senior leaders.
