Reporting to the Manager, Office of the Investor, the Advisor is responsible for contributing to the Office of the Investor's mandate to support investors including investor education, research, outreach, engagement and policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investor Education
    1. Lead the development of educational materials to assist investors in better understanding personal finance, investment products, risks and regulatory protections
    2. Work with the Senior Advisor and Manager to deliver investor education and outreach through multiple channels and delivery methods
    3. Collaborate with other organizations on educational initiatives.
  • Research and Initiatives
    1. Lead research that assists in better understanding investor behavior, circumstances and outcomes.
    2. Use research to test policy proposals
    3. Lead research projects including procurement and dissemination of results
    4. Provide subject matter expertise and in initiatives to better protect investors and advance the investor perspective within the organization
    5. Assist in the development of investor-focused policy initiatives
  • Support the Investor Advisory Panel
    1. Support the IAP in coordinating with internal and external parties and preparing materials for meetings and communications
  • Engagement
    1. Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, investor and consumer advocacy groups, regulators and others
    2. Partner and collaborate internally to understand emerging investor issues and provide feedback on regulatory priorities and initiatives


Education/Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in investment industry regulation, consumer protection, investor education, communications or digital content design and delivery
  • Experience in financial services and investments, with understanding of the complex and broad issues faced by the organization and industry
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Experience drafting policy or educational content
  • Experience analyzing data
  • University education

  • Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills
  • Strong ability to lead projects as part of a team or independently
