The opportunity

We are seeking a senior advisor with specialized expertise in Cost Accounting and Inventory Management to join our Financial Accounting Advisory Services Finance Optimization (FAAS-FO) team in Montre9al. This role is designed for a professional who excels in the evaluation and optimization of product / service costing and Inventory processes as a business advisor, ideally complemented by a strong background in accounting and financial reporting. FAAS operates principally through 4 main pillars: Enhanced Corporate Reporting & Accounting, Finance Optimization, Treasury Management and Transactions Advisory. We understand the evolving role of the CFO and the Finance function, and work with our clients to automate and streamline efficiency, control, and compliance functions, while simultaneously improving the value Finance provides to the organization. Together with our substantial investments in technology, knowledge, and learning resources available to our advisory professionals, you will be part of the team that delivers fit for purpose financial advisory services to our clients and their stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a pivotal contributor to the development of our growing practice, providing exceptional service to our clients and leading our team towards achieving excellence in finance optimization.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant within the Finance Function Optimization pillar, you will be responsible for:
  • Participating in engagements related to cost accounting and inventory management, particularly in manufacturing or operational environments
  • Contributing to the assessment of clients' financial and operational processes (costs, inventory, financial close, reporting)
  • Supporting the team in the analysis of cost methodologies (standard costing, cost tracking, variance analysis)
  • Assisting with process documentation, identification of pain points, and development of improvement recommendations
  • Contributing to the implementation of solutions (processes, controls, tools, reporting), including the preparation of client deliverables and presentations
  • Collaborating closely with project team members and clients, with regular guidance and supervision
  • Supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives and the development of best practices within the team


This role does not involve full ownership of engagements or significant business development responsibilities but offers progressive exposure to these areas.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting and inventory management principles
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data and derive meaningful insights
  • Strong interest in financial process optimization
  • Ability to work in a structured manner, with rigor and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
