About this Role:

As the Senior Accounting Manager at BRINC, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the day-to-day accounting function and work closely with others on the finance & operations team as well as other departments to maintain accurate financial records, analyze & report data, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes. You will own the preparation for our first audit. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a startup in scale up mode and create accounting processes from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, payroll processing, and revenue recognition, ensuring proper documentation of conclusions in accordance with ASC 606 for all subscription, hardware, and service arrangements.
  • Lead audit readiness and coordinate the company's first financial statement audit, including preparation of work papers, schedules, and auditor requests.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee overall tax compliance, including federal, state, local, sales, and payroll taxes, and partner with external tax advisors to coordinate annual filings and other applicable requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance function.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning efforts.
  • Support cross-functional teams on ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including work in process, finished goods, and cost of goods sold.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a high-growth organization.
  • Evaluate and implement scalable accounting systems and automation tools, including the company's future ERP environment.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, combined with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in financial reporting
  • Demonstrated experience managing an audit process, including selection of and interaction with external auditors
  • Hands-on experience implementing financial systems (AR/AP tools or an ERP) to streamline finance & accounting operations
  • Ability to leverage AI tools and automated workflows to optimize accounting operations, enhance variance analysis, and drive close/reporting efficiencies
  • Expert in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite) and proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Proficient in SaaS subscription management/AR software
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate informed recommendations across multiple stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
