Title:
Senior Accountant, US Federal Tax

KBR is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its U.S. Federal Tax team. This role is responsible for supporting U.S. federal income tax compliance activities, including tax provision calculations, tax return preparation, tax analysis, and tax research. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with tax, accounting, finance, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, maintain compliance with applicable tax regulations, and support process improvement initiatives within a dynamic multinational environment.

Trinzic is being established as an independent, multi-national, public company through the planned separation of KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, which is expected to be completed on January 4, 2027. This role offers a rare opportunity to join the organization during a pivotal period of growth and transformation, helping support global tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities that contribute to critical government and commercial missions around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and support quarterly and annual U.S. federal income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax returns and related supporting schedules.
  • Analyze tax accounts and prepare account reconciliations to support financial reporting and tax compliance activities.
  • Assist with quarterly tax forecasts, estimated tax payment calculations, and cash tax reporting requirements.
  • Perform tax research and analysis related to federal tax law changes, reporting requirements, and business transactions.
  • Support responses to tax authority inquiries, audits, and information requests.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to gather data required for tax reporting and compliance activities.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation supporting tax positions, calculations, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Support special projects and other tax-related initiatives as assigned.


Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate income tax, tax accounting, or tax compliance.
  • Experience supporting U.S. federal income tax reporting and compliance activities.
  • Experience supporting US state income tax reporting and compliance activities
  • Experience preparing tax provisions with an awareness of ASC 740.
  • Experience working within a corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or multinational organization.

Technical & Professional Skills
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal income tax principles and tax accounting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient English communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a large multinational corporate tax function.
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax (OIT), OneSource Tax Provision (OTP), or similar tax software.
  • Experience with Costpoint, FCCS, or similar ERPs
  • Experience supporting tax audits, tax planning projects, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with US international tax concepts
  • Comfort in an ever-changing work environment
  • Experience with taking the initiative to implement change
