Make an impact with our Finance team as a Senior Accountant, Partner Accounting. This diverse team of professionals are committed to delivering firm-wide financial solutions with expertise and precision. As a trusted advisor, you'll compile, analyze, summarize and monitor financial data and reports that are integral to understanding the financial position of our firm.
Responsibilities- Maintain project schedules to complete updates of Partner related records
- Set up, maintain, and make updates to Partner information in applicable Finance systems
- Set up, maintain, and make updates to Partner buyout/pension accounting systems
- Directly support our EFT payments and T5013 processes
- Prepare monthly journal entries and general account reviews
- Provide coding, reconciliation, and communication of Partner capital accounts and draws
- Develop internal relationships to understand and be aware of factors that affect Partner related records
- Liaise and work closely with Human Capital, Legal, IT, Executive Administration, and our Firm Tax teams on Partner changes
- Assist in budgeting and creating opening balance sheets for mergers and conducting anniversary post-merger reviews and reconciliations
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required
Skills and Experience- 5+ years of relevant experience in a payroll or accounting role
- Thorough understanding of accounting concepts
- Critical thinking skills, with the ability to see the broader impacts on financial accounting and tax
- Ability to use knowledge and experience to recommend a course of action
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, and experienced in working with various accounting systems
- Experience applying AI to streamline processes (Power automate, Office scripts, Copilot)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
- Written and verbal English language skills, with French considered an asset
- Any of the following would also be considered an asset:
- A professional designation
- Experience working in a Professional Services environment
