Compensation

Salary Range: $41.95 - $61.94 / hour

 

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Responsibilities

The position applies accounting principlesto summarize financial data, analyze financial information, and prepare various schedules and financial reports to support the operations and responsibilitiesof the Accounting Department.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for non-profit entity transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assume responsibility for for-profit corporate entities to include monthly financial statement preparation and journal entries, owners27 distributions, partner communications and receivable collections.
  • Assist departments with budgetary issues and provide explanations to budget variances in a complete and accurate manner.
  • Independently analyze complex transactions and provide recommendations for accounting treatment and processes.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to unique and complex analysis to draw well thought-out conclusions with little or no supervision.
  • Explain key analytical findings through clear written and oral communications.
  • Assist with the coordination and support of various audits and special projects as may be assigned.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven department.
  • Ability to confidently interact with all levels in the organization in a cooperative and collaborative manner to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses as assigned.
  • Compiles, reconciles and analyzes financial information in preparation of journal entries and account analysis.
  • Records expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to generally accounting principles and company policy.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of materials for financial audits
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor27s degree with major in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification

    • Five (5) years of experience in a business office environment with emphasis on general accounting, financial analysis, and report preparation

    • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    Preferred:

    • Experience in a health care environment
    • Experience in public accounting
    • Microsoft Access and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, with strong active listening skills
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
