Job Description:

The Role and Impact
As a Semiconductor Research Engineer, you will drive cutting edge design, simulation, development, and implementation activities for scientific research projects. On a day to day basis, you will innovate and explore advancements in device physics, materials, and process technologies to support the development of novel devices, interconnects, circuits, and systems. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of semiconductor technologies, ensuring Intel remains at the forefront of industry innovation.

Business group
Join Intel's Technology Research group, a global network of research, design, and manufacturing facilities dedicated to harnessing the power of Moore's Law. Within this organization, the Technology Research team focuses on inventing revolutionary process technologies that empower Intel's product leadership. This team supports Intel's mission to deliver smart, connected devices to every person on Earth through pioneering research and development.

Key Responsibilities
- Semiconductor research process integration engineer with a strong understanding of CMOS device physics, thin films, and modern transistor structures including FinFETs and Nanoribbons. PhD in electrical engineering with hands on semiconductor processing experience preferred.
- Performs integrated process feasibility studies and provides process solutions and innovations, for enhanced performance, reliability, scalability and yield, while maintaining high quality, and ensuring safety for ultimate transfer to high volume manufacturing.
- Develops enhancements on existing process flows through introduction of novel materials and continuously innovates, for continued process enhancements, while working in a collaborative environment with other integration, module, device, TCAD, design and analytical groups, to help steer our technology roadmap.
- Plans, designs and conducts experiments as part of a team, to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle from external academic and consortia engagements to internal research and development for eventual transfer during pathfinding engagements with technology development counterparts.
- Identifies integrated process solutions to achieve program goals, while continuously interfacing with customers and partnering with multifaceted engineering, and technician teams. Leverages experience and expertise in device fabrication, device testing analysis and materials characterization (including SIMs, SEM, TEM, EDX, FTIR etc.) to establish value proposition, guide programs and set direction for programs.
- Conducts program transfers from technology research to development teams, while effectively interfacing with engineering and management counterparts. Prepares regular updates to communicate key results with clear summaries, identifying internal as well as external engineering and vendor resource needs, with clear scheduling to intercept technology timelines.
- Leverages big data analysis to identify process design opportunities and/or manufacturing tool issues to propose data-based solutions. Collaborates and engages with development and material suppliers, and partners to develop processes and equipment needs to meet technology roadmaps.

Note: This role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities.
