Job Summary
The Security Engineer protects company systems, applications, and data across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who can identify security problems before they become critical issues. In a dynamic, cloud-first environment, you will implement security controls, assess risk, and strengthen monitoring and response processes, while helping shape security policies and influencing teams across the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the security engineering team and adjacent IT teams to conduct security reviews, provide hardening recommendations, and implement security controls across company IT assets.
  • Monitor emerging threats, assess threat intelligence, and apply security solutions that strengthen the company's security posture.
  • Administer and tune endpoint and email security tools to prevent, detect, and respond to threats.
  • Support and enhance vulnerability management, including identification, tracking, and remediation, to maintain comprehensive visibility across on-premises and cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Participate in security incident response and the on-call rotation for events involving supported infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and maintain security standards, runbooks, and technical documentation.
  • Work with company leadership, IT management, and teams across the business to deliver security awareness efforts and promote a security-first culture.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology or similar
  • 2-4 Years of experience in Software Development, IT Systems Administration and/or Cyber Security
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+/CySA+, ISC2 SSCP, AWS Cloud/Security Certifications, and/or ISC2 CISSP are a plus. 

Competencies
• Understanding of firewalls, SIEM, antivirus, and IDS/IPS concepts.
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
• Effective communicator, positive attitude, a dedicated team player

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Performs sedentary work in an office environment with limited lifting (less than 10 pounds) or walking required. Close visual acuity required to perform work at computer terminal. No exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires repetitive typing motion, talking, hearing, grasping and feeling.
