Key job responsibilities
As a SDE on the team:
- Owns and improves core Markdown systems (e.g., Markdown Submission, Markdown Execution, and pricing algorithms such as First Floor Price calculation).
- Independently leads design and development of new features and system improvements.
- Collaborates with teams including OIH Decision, NPV, PM, and other partner teams to deliver projects such as RL OIH initiatives, cross-cutting programs, and business expansions.
- Drives technical problem solving, requirement clarification, and system design aligned with business goals.
- Maintains highly reliable systems for markdowns, deals, and coupons, while using new work to reduce technical debt and improve architecture boundaries.

About the team
The Optimal Inventory Health (OIH) Channels team is responsible for managing and expanding inventory disposition channels, such as markdowns, deals, coupons, and removals for the Amazon Retail business across all global marketplaces.
The team leverages advanced technologies including Reinforcement Learning (RL), traditional Machine Learning (ML), and Neural Networks to optimize decisions across multiple ASINs and channels while maintaining manageable model complexity.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
