Full Job Description
About the Role

You will execute mouse studies on a dedicated night-shift schedule, enabling overnight dosing, collections, procedures, and continuous study coverage. You will perform in vivo work carefully and independently, organize samples and data, support specialized procedures including EEG studies, and provide complete handoffs that allow the day team to interpret results and move quickly.

Responsibilities
  • Run overnight portions of mouse studies evaluating therapeutic candidates for safety and effectiveness.
  • Dose mice using routes such as IP, IV, SC, PO, and intranasal administration in accordance with study designs, protocols, and your training.
  • Collect blood and disease-relevant tissues; prepare, label, track, process, and store samples correctly for downstream analysis.
  • Perform or support surgeries and specialized in vivo procedures, including EEG surgeries and EEG-study execution where required.
  • Monitor study conduct and animal welfare, document observations and deviations, and make or escalate protocol-based decisions during overnight hours.
  • Perform routine vivarium duties as needed, including cage care, bedding changes, supply restocking, and animal-health monitoring.
  • Organize dosing, procedure, sample, and animal-health data so that the study record is complete and interpretable.
  • Provide clear morning handoffs covering completed work, results, issues, samples, and recommended follow-up.

Ideal Qualifications
  • Able and willing to work the designated night-shift schedule reliably and operate independently when needed.
  • Hands-on experience running mouse studies in biotech, pharma, academia, or a closely related setting.
  • Comfort with common dosing routes, animal handling, sample collection, accurate records, and protocol-compliant in vivo execution.
  • Experience with surgeries, EEG procedures, intranasal dosing, or other specialized methods is helpful; you do not need experience with every procedure listed.
  • Sound judgment, careful attention to animal welfare and data quality, and a habit of documenting and communicating issues early.
  • The ability to create clean, useful handoffs for scientists interpreting the study and planning what comes next.

Pay & Benefits
  • In addition to the posted salary range, we offer generous equity options.
  • Compensation will depend on the skills, experience, and scope of impact you bring. If your background, experience, or compensation needs fall outside this range, we are still open to a conversation based on the scope and impact you could bring.
  • $500+ monthly wellness budget for training, supplements, coaching, recovery, or other tools that help you perform at your best.
  • Healthcare: We offer a broad range of medical, dental, and vision coverage options, with Capable covering 100% of the base policy.
  • You will also have access to HSA, FSA, and 401K plans.
  • Healthy dinners with the team are provided daily.
  • We support visa sponsorship where appropriate, including O-1, H-1B, J-1, TN, and other employment-based pathways. Our team is already international, with members from Canada, Pakistan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, China, India, and the United States.
