SUMMARY:
The Sales Manager has full P&L responsibility and is accountable to assist in leading divisional sales, operations, customer service, and stores. This position is responsible for aiding in developing and executing strategies to increase growth and profitability, ensure sustainability, and has accountability for leading and developing a best-in-class team of professionals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Aid in directing and overseeing the total operation of the Cleveland division to drive operational excellence and financial performance
  • Actively collaborates with the leaders of Operations, Finance, Business Development and Marketing, Human Resources and others in a matrix organization on corporate initiatives, projects, issues and organizational needs.
  • Responsible for performance management and development. Will be responsible for developing, coaching, training the team as well as providing support and direction.
  • Work directly and closely with sales team on all business - including both existing and new business to ensure we are building a sustainably profitable and impactful division.
  • Leads the team in navigating business-related issues and challenges; ensures issues are escalated appropriately and is accountable for identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Participates in the annual budgeting process including monthly sales reviews and updates.
  • Performs periodic reviews with store management and local leadership to ensure full understanding of store strategy and performance.
  • Evaluates division performance and make recommendations for new strategies and performance improvement advances and drives solutions to completion.
  • Proactively identifies cost savings opportunities with accountability for continuous improvement and efficiency. Collaborates with other Executive Team members to implement best in class solutions.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain management, Store Managers and vendors to maintain proper inventory selection and levels to exceed expectations of current customers and attract new business.
  • Supports key account management by collaborating on customer solutions; assisting in the retention of our valued customers and growing our book of business.
  • Leverages Microsoft AX and PowerBI to perform business analysis, strategic planning, and make operational adjustments to ensure the division is meeting or exceeding its performance objectives.
  • Defines key target customers for growth and track progression through metrics and measurables. Use the sales funnel, ERP system and others as tools for strategy and measurement.
  • Host periodic meetings at various levels that may include monthly sales meetings; quarterly all-team meetings and others. Be the example for productive, impactful meetings that accomplish the goals set forth in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensures accountability and compliance with all company procedures and practices.
  • Leads by example, champions and demonstrates the organization's core values.
  • Ground travel is required and estimated at 25%.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Microsoft Dynamics experience is highly beneficial. Alternative ERP expertise is highly desired, as well as utilization of CRM.
  • Time management and effective organizational skills: Create and maintain an environment that is clean and secure for every person within it; the store format has a nice flow; the warehouse is orderly and safe; the office hums. You take pride in the space our employees work in daily, and our customers periodically visit.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field including business, marketing or communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of top level management experience in sales and distribution.
  • Paper (terminology and grades) and packaging experience is highly beneficial.
  • Prior accountability for a P&L with strong financial acumen: Understanding of financials of a divisional operation from sales/revenue to costs, gross profit and earnings.
  • Ability to analyze, compare, contrast, and synthesize information in an efficient and effective manner. Ability to process data and information in an organized manner and generate ideas and recommendations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by a Millcraft Paper Company employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual must be able to drive a vehicle for travel, and sit and speak for extended periods of time. Additional requirements include the ability to walk or navigate about, bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, lift up to 30 lbs. as needed.

The work environment characteristics described herein are generally representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Work is performed in an office environment or outside the office with existing or potential customers, employees or others. Interaction will occur within a small operations environment wherein noise is moderate to loud and floors are concrete.
