Sales Engineer

Hubbell Electric Heater Company

Hubbell Electric Heater Company is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support customers and internal sales teams with engineered water heating solutions. This role combines technical application support, customer engagement, and sales coordination to ensure accurate product selection, sizing, and successful project execution.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with engineers, and supporting industrial and commercial heating applications.

Position Summary

The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting customers and sales representatives with technical expertise related to Hubbell's water heating products and systems. This includes assisting with product selection, sizing, pricing, and technical problem-solving throughout the sales cycle.

The ideal candidate will be able to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for both customers and internal teams while helping ensure accurate and timely execution of orders and quotations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with specifying engineers and manufacturer representatives on product selection and sizing
  • Provide technical support to internal sales teams throughout the quoting and order process
  • Prepare and support pricing quotes and review sales contracts for accuracy
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations for customers and sales meetings
  • Participate in trade shows and technical seminars, including product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with customers and engineers to determine system requirements and equipment needs
  • Troubleshoot basic operational and technical issues related to installed products
  • Recommend product improvements or upgrades based on customer needs and feedback
  • Gather and document customer feedback to support sales and marketing strategy
  • Assist with preparation of business reports and tracking of customer interactions
  • Support and train sales team members on technical product knowledge
  • Provide costing input including estimated material and labor for quoting purposes
  • Maintain and update pricing calculators and quoting tools
  • Prepare technical submittal packages (drawings, installation documents, product data sheets)
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to ensure timely customer responses
  • Support maintenance of sales quote tracking tools and internal systems

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience considered
  • Experience with electrical systems, heating systems, or similar engineered products strongly preferred

Technical Skills
  • Ability to understand and apply electrical fundamentals (volts, amps, kW calculations)
  • SolidWorks and Revit experience is a plus, but not required
  • No formal on-the-job training will be provided for design software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
