Job Summary:

Caterpillar's Electric Power Division has an open opportunity as a Sales Engineer. The Sales Engineer acts as the technical expert, primarily responsible for bridging technical expertise with sales to secure and deliver customized solutions for complex gas projects. This role will support electrical balance of plant but with an emphasis on switchgear and controls.

What you will do:
  • Identify customer technical requirements, pain points, and use cases, providing solutions tailored to their business needs.
  • Build relationships with technical stakeholders within customer organizations to ensure long-term satisfaction and adoption.
  • Develop switchgear and control business in partnership with our Caterpillar dealer network.
  • Create quotes in collaboration with switchgear engineers and project management teams.
  • Share customer feedback with internal product and engineering teams to aid in product development.

  • Detailed understanding of switchgear and controls.
  • Prior direct technical support or direct sales experience.
  • Understanding of Caterpillar products and/or electrical balance of plant.
  • Strong communication; ability to understand and provide guidance on highly complex projects.


Additional Information:
  • The primary location for this position is in Alpharetta, GA; Other locations considered for this position are Irving, TX; Lafayette, IN; and Mossville, IL.
  • Travel up to 35% is required.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
