DescriptionThe Sales Desk Manager will lead a team of internal wholesalers focused on driving sales growth, enhancing client engagement, and supporting the firm's broader distribution objectives. This role requires a leader who can balance talent development with business execution, creating an environment where individuals are challenged, supported, and empowered to perform at their highest level. The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated history of sales success, strong people leadership skills, and the ability to build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is primarily an in-office position based in Boston, MA
What you will do:
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of internal sales professionals to achieve sales desk goals and grow their impact.
- Build sales capability through regular coaching, actionable feedback, performance management, and individualized development plans.
- Deliver training that strengthens sales execution, product knowledge, territory strategy, and client engagement.
- Use sales metrics and activity insights to set priorities, reinforce accountability, and help the team consistently raise performance.
- Bring energy and sales leadership to desk huddles, team meetings, coaching sessions, and day-to-day interactions.
- Partner with sales leadership and field teams to align strategy, coordinate coverage, and support a consistent client experience.
- Interview, onboard, mentor, and develop talent to strengthen the sales desk pipeline and support long-term retention.
- Champion a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented culture where people are motivated to do their best work.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of financial services industry experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, with a clear understanding of sales behaviors, advisor or client engagement, territory management, and activity-driven results.
- Experience leading, coaching, training, or developing sales professionals; sales management experience strongly preferred.
- A demonstrated ability to motivate people, provide candid feedback, reinforce accountability, and help team members build confidence and capability.
- Experience delivering sales training, onboarding, desk huddles, or learning sessions that improve execution, product fluency, and client conversations.
- Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to build trust, navigate performance conversations, and create an inclusive team environment.
- SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 required. Series 24 required within 6 months of employment.
- Familiarity with sales technology tools such as Salesforce, Seismic, YCharts, MPI, WebEx, and Microsoft Teams preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, relationship-building, and time management skills.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented leadership style with sound business judgment and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
In accordance with the Massachusetts Wage transparency act, the expected annual base salary for this Boston, MA, based position is $125,000 - $260,000. Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other Natixis sponsored benefit programs.
