What you'll do- Lead and maintain environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations while supporting ISO 14001 and OHSAS/ISO 45001 management systems.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and facilities teams to identify risks, investigate incidents, and implement engineering controls and process improvements that reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental impacts.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and site-wide programs to foster a strong culture of safety and regulatory excellence across the manufacturing facility.
- Conduct safety and industrial hygiene assessments, analyze trends, evaluate sampling results, and provide actionable recommendations to proactively address workplace hazards and compliance risks.
- Lead EHS training strategy and delivery, identifying organizational training needs and ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to work safely and effectively.
- Serve as the site's EHS subject matter expert, providing guidance to leadership on regulatory compliance, facility design, equipment purchases, safety investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in occupational health, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 5+ years of EHS/SHE leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, with ASP or CSP certification preferred.
- Proven ability to identify risks, solve complex problems, and implement innovative safety solutions while balancing business needs, regulatory requirements, and cost-benefit considerations.
- Excellent communication, training, and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage employees at all levels of the organization and drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading emergency response programs, incident investigations, and cross-functional EHS initiatives while collaborating effectively with operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands, work independently, leverage internal and external resources, and support strategic business objectives.
