Join our nationally recognized team of civil engineering professionals and take ownership of a diverse and rewarding portfolio of transportation projects. As a Roadway Project Manager, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams through the full lifecycle of highway, roadway, and active transportation projects, from planning and design through construction, while serving as the trusted point of contact for state DOTs, counties, and municipalities. This role places you at the intersection of technical leadership and client partnership, where your ability to drive project delivery, manage budgets and schedules, and build lasting relationships is every bit as important as your engineering expertise. You'll also play a meaningful role in mentoring the next generation of engineers and contributing to the growth of our transportation practice, with clear opportunity to advance within the firm.

What You'll Do
  • Manage the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects for public agency clients including ODOT building on existing relationships and developing new partnerships throughout Ohio
  • Oversee design execution while monitoring key performance indications including project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring timely delivery and designs align with ODOT and local agency standard preferences
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across internal disciplines and subconsultants to achieve integrated, high-quality deliverables
  • Champion technical excellence and ensure designs align with agency standards and client expectations
  • Drive project success; lead design teams and proactively manage scope, schedule, budget and risk
  • Build and strengthen client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work
  • Represent the firm at client meetings, public involvement events, and professional organizations such as APWA and ASCE
  • Mentor, coach, and develop emerging engineers to help them grow their technical and leadership capabilities
  • Support business development through proposal development, scoping, fee negotiation, and client pursuits
  • Collaborate across the firm to bring innovative solutions to transportation challenges throughout the country

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the state of employment, or ability to be registered with reciprocity
  • 8+ years of related roadway design experience for state and municipal transportation clients
  • Demonstrated experience leading roadway design tasks or serving as the roadway design lead on transportation projects
  • Experience managing projects of varying sizes and complexity as well as a strong background with proposal development and client engagement
  • Familiarity with ODOT and local agency clients
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite; experience Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads is a plus
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a passion for mentoring and developing future engineers
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
