Full Job Description
Role Overview:
  • Provide case management for a group of oncology patients
  • Begin assessing discharge-planning needs when a patient is admitted
  • Review each patient's progress and identify the services needed for a safe and timely transition to the next level of care
  • Coordinate home care, equipment, services, and follow-up care
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity throughout treatment and follow-up
  • Communicate with physicians and clinical nursing staff about ongoing patient care
  • Connect with insurance carriers and MSK billing teams to obtain treatment authorizations and support appeals
  • Follow select patients in the outpatient setting


Key Qualifications:
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration required
  • BSN required
  • At least two to three years of clinical hospital nursing experience
  • Case management, utilization review, or managed-care experience strongly preferred-but not required
  • Knowledge of state and federal health-insurance regulations preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
