RN - Assistant Clinical Manager - Emergency DepartmentFull Time - 72 hrs. Biweekly
Four 9 hr. Shifts/ week between the hours of 11a-11:30p
As the
Assistant Clinical Manager, you will support the
Clinical Manager in overseeing daily ED operations, lead independently during off-shifts, and contribute directly to quality improvement, staff engagement, and patient-centered care delivery. You'll play a vital role in guiding the team toward achieving department and organizational goals-ensuring excellence in care and service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and direction in the Emergency Department, particularly during off-shifts or in the absence of the Clinical Manager.
- Support unit operations including scheduling, payroll, staffing, and performance evaluations.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement and patient experience initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Serve as a coach and mentor, promoting accountability, professional development, and a positive work environment.
- Uphold standards of nursing practice in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code of Ethics.
- Advocate for patient dignity, autonomy, and safety.
- Identify and resolve barriers to effective communication and care delivery.
- Drive cost-effective practices and support resource management strategies.
- Foster an environment of evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
Qualifications:Education:- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required
Experience:- Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience required, 5 years preferred
- Prior leadership experience preferred (e.g., educator, committee chair, charge/resource nurse)
Licensure & Certifications:- Current Maryland RN license or a Multi-State Compact RN license (with Maryland eligibility) - Required
- BLS (CPR) - Required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, or other unit-required certifications - Must be obtained within 6 months of start
- Professional specialty certification - Preferred
Skills & Abilities:- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced computer applications
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient advocacy, and cost-effective care
