About the RoleIntuit QuickBooks is transforming how small and mid-sized businesses manage their finances through innovative payments and money movement solutions. The Risk Policy team plays a critical role in protecting QuickBooks Payments from fraud while ensuring legitimate customers can transact seamlessly.
We are looking for a
Risk Analyst to support fraud prevention and risk management across QuickBooks' growing fintech ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of
fraud prevention, analytics, customer experience, and business growth.
You will work closely with Data Science, Product, Risk Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Compliance teams to develop and implement effective risk strategies and controls.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement fraud and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support the development and enhancement of risk policies and controls across Payments, Banking, Payroll, Bill Pay, and other fintech products.
- Analyze fraud trends, risk events, and emerging threats to identify opportunities for improved detection and prevention.
- Support risk assessments for new products, features, and business initiatives.
- Use data, analytics, AI/ML tools, and automation to improve fraud detection and risk decisioning.
- Evaluate risk controls and their impact on fraud, customer experience, retention, and business performance.
- Support innovative risk strategies that enable business growth while maintaining a secure and trusted payments ecosystem.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to leverage data and intelligence for fraud prevention.
- Stay informed about emerging fintech fraud trends, payment risks, and industry best practices.
- Communicate analytical findings, recommendations, and risk trade-offs clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in fraud analytics, risk strategy, payment risk management, or a related field within fintech, banking, or payments.
- Experience analyzing fraud, financial, or transactional data to identify patterns and support risk decisions.
- Familiarity with developing or implementing risk policies, fraud controls, or risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience with AI/ML tools, analytics, or automation for fraud detection or risk management is preferred.
- Understanding of payment ecosystems, including ACH, card networks, chargebacks, and bank verification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Ability to balance fraud prevention, customer experience, and business objectives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- A customer-focused mindset and ability to understand the impact of risk decisions on merchants and consumers.
