Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide the Assistant Revenue Managers and Revenue Accountants.
  • Enhance analyses and improve reporting for revenue processes.
  • Prepare consolidated revenue reports for leadership review.
  • Monitor and promptly reconcile revenue general ledger accounts.
  • Track A/R aging and payment reports to identify trends and solutions.
  • Collaborate in troubleshooting complex invoicing and collection issues.
  • Manage the month-end revenue close cycle and journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely contract billing submissions and reporting.
  • Coordinate with Budget department for necessary budget modifications and financial advances.
  • Oversee funder audits and ensure compliance.

Overview

The Revenue Manager leads and mentors' team while ensuring compliance with funder regulations and improving revenue cycle efficiency. The ability to analyze invoicing data, resolve collection issues, forecast contract spending, and generate valuable insight will be key to the success of the team. This position will prepare reports for leadership pertaining to contract invoices and collections. The Revenue Manager is a liaison between the team and funders, Budget and Program Departments, and additional stakeholders. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Accounting.

What You'll Do:
  • Providing oversight and direction for the Assistant Revenue Managers and Revenue Accountants.
  • Work closely with the team to enhance analyses, provide improved reporting, and data-driven process measures for revenue.
  • Prepare consolidated revenue reports for leadership.
  • Monitoring and reconciling revenue general ledger accounts timely.
  • Monitor A/R aging and payment reports monthly to identify trends and resolutions to collection matters.
  • Troubleshooting complex invoicing and collection matters in collaboration with Assistant Revenue Managers.
  • Manage team resources effectively by streamlining work processes and procedures to meet deadlines.
  • Manage the month-end revenue close cycle, including all journal entries.
  • Understand specific contract billing terms; format, frequency, and necessary backup needed to submit.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of the assigned contract billing portfolio for the team.
  • Collaborate with the Budget department to ensure budget modifications and advances are requested timely manner for the team.
  • Ensure all necessary monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports are completed for internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Oversee any funder audits.

You're a great fit for this role if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting and government contracts management.
  • Knowledge in fiscal management and billing for government contracts; Federal, State, and City agencies, including but not limited to NYC DHS, NYC DOHMH, NYC HRA, NYC HPD, NYC OTDA, NYS OCFS, NYS OMH, US HUD, and US VA.
  • Prior Supervisory experience.
  • Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Compensation

Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state, and local laws.
