Job DescriptionAbout the RoleWe are looking for a
Revenue Accounting Manager to be part of a team that is critical to the company's month-end close, financial reporting, and SOX compliance. In this role, you will support the accounting for our global payments and disbursements ecosystem, including payment service providers and financial products.
You will work cross-functionally with FinTech, Strategic Finance, and Payment Operations to improve accounting processes, develop scalable solutions, and support new initiatives. You will also play an important role in improving the efficiency of our close and accounting processes through automation, AI, and process simplification.
This role requires someone with strong accounting fundamentals and an analytical and curious mindset who is comfortable working with complex datasets, investigating issues, navigating ambiguity, and driving solutions.
What You'll Do- Manage key aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, flux analysis, reconciliations, and internal and external reporting.
- Own accounting processes supporting our global payments and disbursements ecosystem and develop an understanding of the underlying transaction and fund flows.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate close processes, reconciliations, and controls, including leveraging AI and emerging technologies.
- Partner with FinTech, Strategic Finance, and Payment Operations on automation initiatives, process improvements, and resolution of accounting and operational issues.
- Support new product launches and other strategic initiatives by analyzing transaction and fund flows, identifying accounting requirements, and helping establish scalable processes.
- Review business proposals and relevant contractual arrangements, assess financial and accounting impacts, and provide accounting guidance to cross-functional partners.
- Perform and maintain assigned internal controls and ensure accounting processes are designed and operated in accordance with SOX requirements.
- Analyze complex financial and operational datasets, investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive issues through resolution.
- Support external audit, internal audit, and local statutory audit requirements.
- Support critical accounting projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Basic Qualifications- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant Accounting and/or Finance experience.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and US GAAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets and independently investigate accounting issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and cross-functional business partnering skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and working with large financial datasets.
Preferred Qualifications- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools.
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP environments.
- Experience with automation, system implementations, UAT, or finance transformation initiatives.
- Experience leveraging AI or emerging technologies to improve accounting processes and analysis.
- A mix of public accounting and corporate accounting experience.
- Payments, fintech, or other transaction-intensive industry experience is a plus but not required.
ResponsibilitiesFor San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $146,000 per year - USD $162,000 per year.
