This position provides a balance of branch operations and patient-facing respiratory care while helping patients successfully transition from hospital to home.
Key Highlights- Coverage includes rotation between the Plainview and Riverhead branches
- Hours: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- Work Arrangement: On-site; approximately 80% office and 20% field
- Driving Territory: Up to 1.5 hours from the branch
Salary Range- $52.00 - $60.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and applicable credentials.
On-Call Transparency- Rotating on-call schedule shared among all Respiratory Therapists
- Week-long coverage rotation
What You'll Do- Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow ups
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
- Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
- Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
- Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
- Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
- Performs other duties as required
What We Look For- Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NY RT license.
- Open to candidates with varying experience levels; 2+ years preferred
- Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
Education- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations- Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
- Hold a current CPR Certification
- Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
