Our ideal candidate has experience on highway, road and bridge projects throughout NJ with agencies such as NJDOT, NJTA, SJTA, DRPA, DRJTBC, and/or experience with Local County and State agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Coordinate and observe construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Document all on-site observations of construction progress such as equipment, manpower, and materials on a Daily Inspection Report and various other reports when required.
- Proactively communicate with the contractor and the client to progress the project in a timely manner to meet the project goals.
Job Requirements:- NICET III-IV Certification or Valid Professional Engineers license in the State of New Jersey is required.
- 7+ years of experience in construction inspection
- EIT or B.S. in Civil Engineering is a plus
- ACI, NJSAT, TCC, CCTC, and/or OSHA 10 Preferred.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and specifications, as well as familiarity with inspection tools and software.
- Experience with inspection of Federal-aid projects and relevant certifications is not required but is a plus.
- Experience with bridge construction is a plus.
- Experience with NJTA Capex or NJDOT Site Manager is not required but is a plus.
- Able to work overtime, some nights, or weekends as needed.
- Ability to drive to and from, on, or around a project site during all times of the day.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License
