Full Job Description
Lead, coordinate, and develop the research activity of LCI Barcelona, ensuring compliance with the quality standards required by accreditation agencies (AQU Catalunya, ANECA, etc.), fostering the faculty's scientific output, and managing the acquisition and execution of research projects, competitive calls for funding, and collaboration agreements with public and private entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and implement the institution's strategic research plan, aligned with academic and accreditation objectives.
  • Identify and manage funding calls (national, European, and international) relevant to the school's research lines.
  • Coordinate the preparation, submission, and technical-financial justification of research projects.
  • Track the faculty's scientific output indicators (publications, conferences, patents, theses) and keep the institutional research database up to date.
  • Support faculty in preparing applications for research bonuses (sexenios), accreditations (AQU, ANECA), and research activity evaluation processes.
  • Manage research ethics committees and ensure regulatory compliance (intellectual property, data protection, scientific integrity).
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with universities, research centers, companies, and public bodies for collaborative projects.
  • Prepare periodic monitoring reports and the annual research report for management and accreditation bodies.
  • Organize and promote scientific outreach activities (conferences, seminars, internal workshops).
  • Oversee the budgetary management of research projects in coordination with the finance department.
  • Represent the institution before research networks and consortia in the education and creative sectors.


COMPETENCY PROFILE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • University degree (Master's or PhD preferred/valued) in fields related to academic management, research, business administration, or disciplines connected to LCI's teaching areas (design, fashion, art, management, technology).

Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in research management in a university or higher education setting.
  • Demonstrable experience managing competitive funding calls (H2020/Horizon Europe, Ministry, AGAUR, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Spanish and Catalan university system and accreditation processes (AQU Catalunya, ANECA).

Languages:
  • Native or advanced level (C1-C2) Spanish and Catalan.
  • Advanced English (C1), essential for drafting international proposals.

Technical skills:
  • Proficiency with project management platforms and research databases.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property regulations and research ethics.
  • Analytical skills for reporting and KPI tracking.

Personal competencias:
  • Leadership and ability to work with faculty and research profiles.
  • Excellent communication and technical/scientific writing skills.
