Full Job Description
This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA). OVERVIEW: The Research Analyst, Private Wealth will conduct fundamental research on domestic large-cap companies and partner with portfolio managers on a proprietary large-cap equity strategy. This role will generate actionable investment insights, support buy/sell decisions, contribute to portfolio construction and risk management, and provide research support for Private Wealth portfolio managers and client discussions as needed. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, intellectually curious, and comfortable synthesizing quantitative data with qualitative judgment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Research. As directed by the portfolio management team, evaluate companies and industries to generate investment insights, including analysis of financial statements, business models, competitive positioning, valuation, earnings expectations, and market trends. Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify risks and opportunities and communicate findings to portfolio managers and, when appropriate, clients. 3474 Maintain a watchlist of companies under consideration for the strategy. 3474 Run quantitative screens across the S&P 500 universe and surface potential opportunities for team discussion. 3474 Provide broad research coverage across the investable universe, with deeper analysis where warranted. 3474 Support investment recommendations with portfolio-level analytics, including tracking error, sector positioning, factor exposures, and tax considerations. 3474 Use research tools, including AI-enabled resources, FactSet, and Bloomberg, while validating outputs and following established investment process guidelines. Portfolio Construction and Management. Partner with the portfolio management team to support disciplined portfolio construction, security weighting, rebalancing, exposure management, and ongoing oversight of the Private Wealth Large Cap Equity Model and related separately managed accounts. 3474 In collaboration with the lead portfolio manager, execute rebalancing trades to maintain compliance with portfolio guidelines. 3474 Manage the Private Wealth Large Cap Equity Model and assigned SMA portfolios in CRIMS. 3474 Execute tax-loss harvesting trades in accordance with the strategy's investment process. Risk Management. Monitor portfolio risks and exposures to help ensure positioning remains aligned with the strategy's investment process, including tracking error, sector and factor exposures, constraints, and performance attribution. 3474 Maintain dashboards tracking portfolio risk characteristics relative to the S&P 500. 3474 Monitor compliance with portfolio constraints and recommend corrective action as needed. 3474 Prepare monthly performance attribution summaries. Client and Internal Support. Support portfolio managers, client-facing discussions, investment communications, quarterly strategy reviews, and materials for senior leadership and investment committees. 3474 Communicate portfolio updates and investment decisions to Private Wealth Portfolio Management stakeholders. 3474 Prepare materials for quarterly strategy reviews, including attribution, risk positioning, and strategy commentary. 3474 Support communications for senior management, the investment committee, and Private Wealth leadership. 3474 Update company information materials and support portfolio managers in client conversations. Firm Building. Contribute to departmental and firm-wide initiatives that improve investment capabilities, client experience, and operational efficiency.
