About the roleThe Information is seeking a reporter to break news and write high-impact stories about Apple at the most consequential moment in the company's 50-year history. Apple has a new chief executive, John Ternus, who faces big decisions about how to guide the world's second most valuable company into its next chapter. The coming years could determine whether Apple's devices become the best place to use AI, or whether the AI era erodes the grip the iPhone has had on consumers and developers for nearly two decades.
We want someone who can get inside Apple to tell our readers about its next moves in AI, hardware, semiconductors, and services. Our readers include tech executives, investors, and the founders and engineers who build on Apple's platforms. They want to know what Apple will do before the rest of the market does. The reporter will break news, write deeply reported features and profiles, and help readers make sense of how a new era of leadership is changing the company.
We also want to elevate the reach and stature of our reporters. The reporter will have the opportunity to moderate at our conferences and appear on our streaming video show, TITV.
This reporter will join a team of collegial reporters who share tips and collaborate without the bureaucracy that characterizes big newsrooms, and will work closely with our reporters covering AI, chips, and big tech. Strong reporting is the pulse of our newsroom, fostered by editors and senior reporters who actively coach reporters on how to advance their reporting and writing.
