JOB TITLE/TYPE:
Remote Sensing Scientist/Full-Time
PAY RANGE:
$110,000.00 - $190,000.00
Skyline is looking for a Remote Sensing Scientist to lead research, algorithm development, and advanced analytics for cutting-edge electro-optical and infrared sensing systems. This role applies physics-based modeling, image science, and data analytics to detect, track, locate, and characterize remote sensing targets. While familiarity with OPIR is valuable, the primary emphasis is on EO/IR phenomenology, sensor performance, and multi-platform remote sensing analytics in support of intelligence and defense missions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and utilize image processing workflows to support the analysis and exploitation of remote sensing data.
Create, implement, and evaluate algorithms based on scientific principles and technical requirements.
Perform research and analysis using data from a variety of remote sensing platforms and sensors.
Develop innovative image processing and data analysis techniques to address complex technical challenges.
Evaluate algorithm and system performance using established testing, validation, and assessment methods.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical solutions and support project objectives.
Prepare and present technical reports, briefings, presentations, and analytical findings to stakeholders.
Apply data analysis, modeling, and visualization techniques to support research, development, and operational activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active TOP SECRET/SCI
Bachelor's degree in Image Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or in related fields and 5 years of experience
Experience with remote sensing, image processing and/or digital signal processing
Experience working with electro-optical imaging systems such as OPIR, Hyperspectral, or Multispectral platforms
Ability to work independently or with a team
Experience with Python or Matlab
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Image Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or in related fields and 5 years of experience
Experience with remote sensing, signal processing, and image processing algorithms.
Familiarity with EO/IR, OPIR, Hyperspectral, Multispectral, SAR, or LIDAR sensor systems.
Experience integrating RADAR, LIDAR, SAR into workflows
Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
