ResponsibilitiesA typical day in this role immerses you in innovative digital I&C design, where you'll collaborate with a talented team to tackle complex challenges, develop system solutions, and create impactful designs that shape the future of control systems, all while ensuring compliance and driving transformative change.
- Digital I&C Design Engineering: Perform a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities. Perform Digital Systems Design Development -- PLC, DCS, networked computer systems, and digital instrumentation & control systems functional requirements
- System Coordination & Compliance: Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. Proficiency in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systems
- System Upgrades & Documentation: Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components. Prepare and review detailed calculations, including scaling, uncertainty, and setpoint calculations for analog and digital controls applications. Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production including master diagrams and schematics
- Project Planning & Estimation: Perform design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates. Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development. Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activities
- Collaboration & Site Integration: Perform review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications. Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships. Perform site walkdowns as needed to identify design solutions #LI-MB1 #remote
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree
- Professional Engineering License
- Must have at least 10 years of I&C engineering experience
- Experience with nuclear design projects
- Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms
- Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants
- Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing
- Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution
- Must be able to access client sites to conduct walkdowns as needed
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation RangeUSD $140,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
