Full Job Description
Amentum is seeking a 1st shift Reliability Specialist for GE Durham Aircraft Engine Assembly facility.

The Reliability Specialist will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will focus on increasing equipment reliability by improving asset availability of industrial equipment, reducing equipment downtime and manufacturing costs, integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, and be involved in long-term planning

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Specify appropriate Preventive Maintenance (PM's) / Predictive Maintenance (PdM's) based on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Provide Maintenance Functional input to new Equipment Purchase Specifications to ensure adequacy
  • Provide Maintenance Functional input to new facility Design Reviews
  • Participate Pre-Start-Up-Safety-Reviews to ensure safe commissioning and system start-up
  • Participate in specifying on-site maintenance and repair capability and tooling requirements.
  • Perform equipment reliability analysis and recommends improvements based on Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings
  • Establish critical equipment spares
  • Conduct RCFA on failed equipment / components and improves life expectancy using RCFA findings
  • Recommend equipment reliability improvements by doing analysis of equipment trends, historical, and field data
  • Provide technical support (QA/QC, installation, and start-up) for all new equipment installations
  • Promote Reliability Principles, Precision Maintenance, and Condition Monitoring
  • Pro-actively identify potential project problems or opportunities and analyze the issues, using all appropriate resources, to develop the optimum approach to mitigating problems and/or exploiting opportunities.
  • Develop full scope and extent of work required, including cost and time required, to conduct the relevant repair, preventive, predictive, and improvement maintenance activities of the plant equipment, buildings and grounds.
  • Identify work requiring engineering and design and reviews with proper entities.
  • Lead weekly continuous improvement activities and communicate wins and barriers to client and Amentum management teams.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in reliability improvements (negotiable)

Desired Characteristics:
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Precision Maintenance techniques; Maintenance & reliability best practices; Reliability engineering principle
  • Predictive Maintenance Technologies as: Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Non-Destructive Testing, Thermography, Ultrasound, Motor Circuit Analysis, etc.
  • Experience with Equipment Life Cycle Cost
  • Strong technical, analytical, and diagnostic skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with complex, ambiguous, and contradictory alternatives
  • Ability to work well with teams of diverse people, diverse ideas, in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • CMMS experience, Maximo a plus


Compensation Details:
$84,000 - $89,000
